DVD only.Ahoy! If you like your erotic movies to have adventure, extravagant costumes, and a rough edge (but still humorous at times), Pirates might be for you. The production values are excellent (in fact, this is the most expensive adult film ever made), the acting is pretty good, and it ties in the sex scenes very well to a story of kidnapping, swashbuckling, and most of all, steamy erotic encounters on the high seas. Beware of one scene that could be construed as nonconsensual -- we think it goes along with the storyline, and that the at-first-unwilling participant ends up having a great time. If you disagree, skip that scene -- you'll still enjoy the rest of the movie.
Includes three discs: one with the normal version of the movie, one with a "high-definition" version of the movie (to be played on high-definition TVs or computers) and one with special features.
129 min. Produced in 2005.
Starring: Austyn Moore, Carmen Luvana, Devon, Evan Stone, Janine, Jenaveve Jolie, Jesse Jane, Kris Slater, Scott Nails, Steven St. Croix, Teagan Presley, and Tommy Gunn. Directed by Joone.

Pirates is a swashbuckling tale filled with action, romance, intrigue, betrayal, and heros with unusually strong chins.
Newly married Manuel and Isabella have their wedding night crashed by the cruel pirate Victor Stagnetti and his band of rambunctious followers. Manny is kidnapped, while poor Isabella is cast overboard to be taken care of by the sharks. Luckily for her, Captain Edward Reynolds, a wannabe pirate hunter, happens to spot her from his vessel, the Sea Stallion. The reluctant Reynolds decides to help Isabella track down the nasty pirates at the urging of his ever-supportive second mate, Jules. This leads them to an island of seedy characters in search of a power so great, that it must be protected before it get in the wrong hands.
Pirates is definitely a higher quality porn film. I believe this is the first time I saw the Dolby Digital trademark opening in an adult film. There was a huge cast all outfitted in elaborate period costumes. There was a lot of CGI shots of the ships, as well as a ton of special effects.
The acting wasn't all bad (which is saying a lot for adult film). Evan Stone, Janine, Tommy Gunn, and Steven St. Criox have above-average acting skills. Jesse Jane, Carmen Luvana, and everyone else displayed what I consider average acting skills. That doesn't mean they weren't likeable.
Jesse Jane as Jules was very cute in that ditzy sort of way. She is believable as the unyielding optimist. Isabella, played by Carmen Luvana, has a very cute accent. That girl really gives her all in sex scenes. Serena, played by Janine, has an uncanny physical resemblance to Lisa Marie Presley, voice and all. She played the bad guy with a conscience very well. Of course, she ends up being a good guy by the end. Evan Stone is an absolute hoot as Capt. Edward Reynolds. He is a genuinely funny guy. He never lets up in his satirical performance of a captain who manages to get the job done, despite being an inept coward. Tommy Gunn was extremely creepy as Capt. Victor Stagnetti. He gave a Hollywood-worthy performance. Steven St. Croix makes a small appearance as Marco, a man who has had his heart broken by Jules. As usual, he plays the sensitive guy with the funny lines. He's like the mailman because he always delivers.
The sex was pretty hot. It wasn't too heavy on the pornogasms. There was a lot of girl-on-girl action. There were scenes where the women played submissive or coy. There were scenes where they were the ones in control. There was some inventive usage of candles, lit and unlit. There was sex in dangerous places. This was the first adult film I have scene with sex between a couple who was actually in a committed, albeit temporarily monogomous relationship i.e. the marriage of Manuel and Isabella.
All in all, a good movie. This is one of the few films that I laughed at because it was funny, not corny.
I would recommend this film to people looking for a plot-heavy film, light-hearted laughs, period costumes, romance, or a fantasy film.
This movie is full of young and hip people. There are lots of tattoos & piercings because it is a movie about pirates.
The orgasms are not as exaggerated in this film as I have seen in other adult movies, so I am not as inclined to give my usual sarcastic answer that they are faking it. Everyone seems to be having a good time.
Do they look like real people? No. They are all extremely fit. Body hair can only be found on the bad guys (except Serena, but that is because she is a girl. Cursed double standard.)
There is 1 group sex scene (actually it was two women going at it while a bunch of other people watched, there are a couple of threesomes, lots of cunnilingus/fellatio.
I especially liked Evan Stone. He was really funny. I also liked Nhan played by Wu Chow. He was one of those rare golden supporting characters. I'm not sure if his funny lines were funny because they were actually funny or because of how he said it. It is obvious the language barrier helped provide a lot of unscripted laughs, as illustrated by the blooper reel.
If you liked Blue Movie you may like this movie because they are both campy, purposely funny, and have a plot.
