This delightfully steamy collection is made up of short stories written from African-American perspectives, all of which have a travel theme. Wanderlust features very high-quality writing, excellent plots and character development, and - of course - some very erotic sex scenes.
One reviewer especially enjoyed the way each character in this book really shines. Readers feel like they can get inside the heads of all the characters, which makes the sex scenes feel very intimate. Most of the stories feature quite a bit of plot, but the lovemaking ties in very well with the story and isn't overshadowed by detail.
Some of these stories are only a few pages long, and some are as long as 20 pages. Each has its own style, but most tend toward subject matter that isn't too edgy. In "Irresistible", a man travels to Paris, then to Madrid, to visit two lovers and try to decide between them. In "The Fixer", a woman vacationing in Sicily meets a man on the beach late at night, and has unforgettable encounter with him. She's left wondering - is he a real man, or a sea spirit? In "Southernmost Triangle", a man drives to the Florida Keys to spend a sexy weekend with his female lover - and her husband.
There's no bondage or other BDSM in this collection, and the pairings are predominantly heterosexual. The "travel tales" theme means we get to travel all over the globe - stories are set in a variety of locales, from Jamaica to Paris to Chicago.
Overall, our reviewer considers this one of the most well-written, interesting, and just plain sexy collections in recent memory.
