From professional dominatrixes to women who just like to be in charge in the bedroom, each story in Whipped focuses on sexually dominant women. Edited by Carol Queen, the subject matter ranges from the mild to the wild end of the spectrum.
For example: In "Tagging Along", a woman makes her latest boyfriend tag along as her "little brother" as she goes from art gallery to art gallery, with a special reward at the end of the evening. In "The Softer Side of S&M" a woman and man meet in a bar, and set out to see who will submit first. In "Election Night 2004" a woman picks up a pretty "unkempt girl" at a lesbian bar on election night, and takes her home to play.
Most of the stories in Whipped feature heterosexual couples, but a few lesbian couples appear, too. Some stories are more explicit than others, but expect to see everything from pony play to floggings to humiliation to steamy intercourse.
This book also includes the DVD "Whipped", the 2000 Sundance Channel documentary by Iana Porter and Sasha Waters, which takes an in-depth look at the lives of three women who work as professional dominatrixes in New York City.
The book is 234 pages long, and is edited by Carol Queen; it includes stories from Cecilia Tan, Violet Blue, Carol Queen, and Thomas S. Roche, among others. The DVD is approximately 63 minutes long.
