The erotic stories cover a wide range of territory, and many include difficult emotions or ironic twists. For example, in Hannah's Tale, the protagonist recounts memories of intense and messy sex with her boyfriend, all while he is getting his stuff from her apartment to be with another woman. In Bampton's Day Out, a man picks up two young women, takes them on a picnic, and when they begin to have sex, reveals a big secret. Also included is a lengthy (about 75 of the 285 pages) sample of some racy Victorian era erotica--part 1 of Lady Pokingham (part 2 is in Charlotte Webb's Pillow Book). The illustrations and photos include both vintage and contemporary photos of threesomes, women's backsides, a Spot-the-Difference puzzle, and drawings of nude women with prominent vulvas. There are also 2 erotic crossword puzzles for your enjoyment.
This eclectic and quirky collection can be hit or miss, but it may also provide you with some erotic jewels you would not find elsewhere. This would be a great choice if you want a lot of variety in a book that is intelligent, irreverent, and erotic at the same time. Those looking for tamer, more romantic fare may want to look elsewhere.
