Description:
DVD only. Our reviewers loved this video designed to help every woman become comfortable enough to do an erotic dance routine to seduce her lover. Covers body image and ways to feel better about how you look (no matter your age or shape or size), ways to dress and move, routines to try, and good music choices. This video has given many women the courage to express a part of themselves that has never before seen the light of day - with fabulous results! Highly Recommended. 60 min. Produced in 2001. One reviewer's opinion: "I think this video is an excellent introduction to erotic dance. It is taught by 'grandmother, instructor, and exotic dancer' Laurie Conrad. Her moves are very fluid and definitely show that her 23 years in the industry have helped her with her technique. She is a very likeable woman and seems very empowered and self-confident. Her attitude is do what works for you, because everyone is different and there is nothing wrong with that.
"The video showcases a class of Laurie's real-life students, and addresses the self- esteem and body-image issues of the women to reinforce the fact that you might not be comfortable at first (and that it will show). Basically, you have to make the choice to work through those things - 'what you think is what you feel and what you feel is what you project' is the motto for the class. The women give believable testimonials, which I think are beneficial to all female viewers.
They also make prop and equipment suggestions before the class starts, like suggesting pillows for floor exercises.
"The dance instruction was excellent. They give reference points, like visualizing a circle on the floor and staying within it to help pinpoint where your range of motion should be. They also give moves specific names, which helps with their routine at the end, as the instructor is able to guide the class by saying the specific moves, like 'step, slide, step, slide, pivot.' They cover the basics of walking with an emphasis on eye contact and drawing someone in with you body language, and show basic hip rolling techniques and some variations, as well as demonstrate a sexy turn and some basic floor moves.
"The only qualms I have with this movie is that, unlike Erotic Strip Dance and Strip to It, they don't instruct women to start out with no heels or bare feet because it is easier and less likely to end in a spill. A lot of the women in this video wore the four-inch stiletto 'stripper heels.' They also didn't give specific techniques for removing articles of clothing like the Erotic Strip Dance video, which can present problems of its own when you're trying to be sexy while removing a glove, but it won't come off.
"Overall, I would recommend this video to everyone I know. This movie is woman-friendly, and although there are no sex scenes and no orgasms, the women really seem to be enjoying the class, the moves, and the instructor. Includes women of varying ages and backgrounds. I especially liked the testimonials from real women - they seemed genuine."
