It's waterproof, with three layers: polyester "shag" (a super-soft fiber that's a bit like the softest rabbit fur, but softer...) or velvety smooth "posh", a layer of soft nylon in the middle to soak up fluids, and a layer of polyester satin on the other side for a silky smooth texture. Use it with the satin side up to make things more slippery; use it with the "fluffy" side up for a soft feather sensation. Also makes a good blanket for those steamy summer months when you need a lightweight, cool fabric to lounge on. Possibly the best part? It's machine-washable. One of our favorite new products!
