Description:
A closet full of stories about people experimenting with their clothing, appearance and gender expression. Transgender women find men who appreciate their special form of femininity, girlfriends dress up their boyfriends in their frilly underwear, butch lesbians try on dresses and femmes try on boots, college boys discover an affinity for stockings and lingerie. The writing overall is solid and of good quality.
Tough Enough to Wear a Dress, in which a butch overcomes her negative associations with dresses for her femme partner, is touching and well-written, and Beefeater is a hot treatment of a girl's fetish for wearing a Royal Guard uniform. A Cute Idea is just that, a short and sweet tale of a girl discovering the excitement of having her boyfriend wear her underwear.
A couple of stories (Like a Girl, Some Things Never Change) tug the heartstrings a bit when the protagonists struggle with their gender expression. The one oddball in this collection is The Princess on the Rock, which is written in an overwrought, bodice-ripper style and ends with both characters coated in slain monster goo.
The characters express themselves in ways other than through clothing; there's plenty of packing, strap-ons, fantasy play, fellatio, exhibitionism, spanking, anal sex and cunnilingus for all. A good pick for people who enjoy the differences and surprises that come with the creative expression of gender.
