This revolutionary photography book has created quite a buzz in the art and pornography worlds. Photographer Timothy Greenfield-Sanders took portraits of 30 porn-stars, male and female, homosexual, bisexual and heterosexual, and from a variety of ethnic backgrounds. For each portrait, there is one picture of the star fully clothed and one picture, in the same pose as the clothed picture, of the star fully naked. The results are interesting, to say the least. Many of us don't see the stars of our favorite adult films wearing everyday clothes very often, and we also don't usually take the time to look at their naked bodies very closely. What does a naked porn star look like when he or she isn't engaging in a sex act?This book is fascinating for so many reasons. It's delightfully voyeuristic to see the stars naked against a plain background, and equally interesting to see them dressed in "plain" clothes. And though many have the impression that all porn star bodies look the same, it's great to see all the variation among body types represented here (they're all fit and toned, but penis size, breast size, tattoos, pubic hair, labia, etc all vary from person to person). Accompanying the pictures are some great essays by a wide variety of people -- Gore Vidal, Nina Hartley, John Malkovich, John Waters and Salman Rushdie, among others, all contribute their extended opinions on pornography, sex, and the naked body. Among the porn stars pictured are Jenna Jameson, Seymour Butts, Belladonnna, Peter North, Savannah Samson, Ron Jeremy, May Ling Su, Nina Hartley, Tera Patrick and Chad Hunt.
