This is an occasionally very sexy, sometimes offbeat story that had some of us loving it, and some of us appreciating it more as art. Here's what one reviewer had to say about the film:
I found this movie to be more interesting than hot, although there are some hot moments. It's very plot-oriented, and unlike much plot-oriented porn that I've seen, it actually held my interest and stood well on its own. The sex scenes are good and varied, but if you tend to fast forward through anything that isn't sex, you might be bored with this movie.
There's a woman named Leah who hasn't had sex or been in a relationship for quite some time, and she's lonely. To top it all off, she comes home from work to find her roommate and her boyfriend having sex on the couch (again). So she resorts to joining an internet dating service. There are several very unsexy (but pretty funny) men who contact her; and we see them in front of their computers surfing the ads. Watching these men is humorous, but decidedly non-erotic (especially the icky gun-loving, beer-guzzling guy who starts masturbating to his hula doll...). They contribute to the modern-fairy-tale plot by demonstrating Leah's struggle to find a suitable mate, but they definately detract from the eroticism.
Leah has a close friend who works as a Domme named Mistress Eve Minax. She's a tall, extra-lusty redhead with multiple labia piercings. There's one scene where they masturbate together using vibrators; it's just friendly, and they don't touch each other except for tweaking each other's nipples a little bit. (Note: We don't sell the vibrator that Leah uses because it contains phthlates). Once Leah finds a guy online that she's interested in meeting, Mistress Eve offers to take him on a "trial run" to see if he's worthy of her. He's willing to meet her friend (thinking that her "friend" is probably her), but is skeptical when Mistress Eve asks him to take off his clothes, put on a blindfold, and masturbate. He complies, though, and is rewarded by being helped out by, and then meeting, Leah. Mistress Eve pours champagne and proposes a toast to "an honest relationship." What a way to meet someone for the first time! A few days later, they meet up for a date, and Leah surprises him by presenting herself covered with fruit, whipped cream, and other goodies for him to nibble (yum). After dessert, they retreat to the bedroom where they have very sweet, sensuous sex (and a humorous moment where they both reach for condoms at the same time).
The other sex scenes include Leah masturbating in the bathtub (a common occurrence in Libido's movies), a very hot dream sequence that begins with several couples tango dancing and ends up in an orgy centered around Leah, and a playful scene of Mistress Eve at work topping a clown. While this scene is very clearly about dominance and submission, it's incredibly sweet, there's lots of camaraderie and chemistry between the two, and they both have fun and laugh a lot.
The plot is interesting, and the sex is generally good, but at times the two conflicted with each other, and there were things that serviced the plot well while sacrificing eroticism. There's a lot of variety and creativity in the sex acts, and the entire movie is clearly well-thought out and put together. In fact, the creativity and unconventionality of this movie is what makes it stand out. I didn't think it was as good or erotic as Urban Friction, but it's definitely worth watching if you want something out of the ordinary.
