Description:
A lighthearted, fun, and humorous mainstream movie. Two antagonistic friends/business partners are working hard to finish the sex scenes in their new book before the deadline. This scenario lends itself well to fantasized sex scenes — Jack imagines various scenarios that Julia proposes, like a woman getting it on with her gardener. Jack wants to sleep with Julia, but she adamantly refuses (so you know there’s going to be a lot of sexual tension, and that they will have sex before the movie is over) When Julia’s broken-hearted best friend comes over and cries on her shoulder, Jack imagines them having sex (a clever way to incorporate the necessary girl-girl scene, since it IS a male fantasty, after all. They did the same thing in Fluff n Fold). And then there’s the pizza guy, who, wouldn’t you know it, ends up having sex in the bathroom with the best friend. But not before he delivers the hilarious line,” I was a psych major before I decided deliverin’ pizzas was the career for me.” Later, Julia and Jack argue about whether the oral scene in their story should be cunnilingus or fellatio, and we see each of them imagining the other performing the act on them. Each of the fantasies is interrupted by someone saying, “Jack? Jack, pay attention!” or something similar. The last sex scene, when Jack and Julia finally admit their love for each other, is surprisingly sweet. There is a degree of romance, dare I say chemistry, in this scene that I would not have expected. The whole movie is funny, with a cheeky sense of humor, and decent sex scenes.
